[ AI INTEGRATION ] // CUSTOMER SUPPORT

AI customer support that earns trust before it cuts cost.

We integrate language models into your existing helpdesk — Zendesk, Salesforce, Freshdesk, or custom — with the guardrails enterprise and federal teams require: audit logs, PII redaction, deterministic fallbacks, and human handoff.

[001 / 005] Field Conditions

The deployment most teams ship is the one that gets clawed back.

// SITUATION

Off-the-shelf AI support bots collapse the moment they meet real tickets — hallucinated policies, brittle escalation, no traceability when an answer goes wrong. Procurement asks 'where did this answer come from?' and the team has nothing to show. The pilot quietly ends. We have built support integrations that do not get clawed back.

  • Tier-1 deflection plateaus at 12% because the bot cannot read your knowledge base accurately.
  • Compliance and legal block production rollout — no audit trail, no source attribution on responses.
  • Agents distrust the AI suggestions because the model invents policies that do not exist.
  • Integration with the existing CRM is half-finished; tickets fall through cracks between systems.

[002 / 005] Operational Approach

How we ship AI support integrations that survive contact with users.

  1. STEP-01

    Ground the model in your real corpus

    We index your help center, internal wikis, past ticket resolutions, and product docs into a retrieval layer the model is required to cite from. No citation, no answer.

  2. STEP-02

    Wire deterministic guardrails

    Policy questions route to deterministic rules. PII gets redacted before it ever reaches the model. Refund logic stays in code, not in a prompt. The LLM handles language, not authority.

  3. STEP-03

    Build the audit surface first

    Every model call lands in an immutable log with the prompt, retrieved context, output, and confidence. Compliance gets the dashboard before launch, not after.

  4. STEP-04

    Stage the rollout behind agent-assist

    We launch with the model drafting replies for human agents to approve. Approval rate becomes the gate for enabling autonomous tier-1 deflection on the highest-confidence intents.

  5. STEP-05

    Measure deflection and CSAT in tandem

    Deflection without CSAT is theater. We instrument both from day one and tune the autonomy threshold against the joint signal — never one in isolation.

// TYPESCRIPT PATTERN
async function answerSupportQuery(question: string, customerId: string) {
  const context = await retrieveFromCorpus(question, { topK: 5 });
  const response = await anthropic.messages.create({
    model: 'claude-opus-4-7',
    system: SUPPORT_SYSTEM_PROMPT,
    messages: [{
      role: 'user',
      content: `Question: ${question}\n\nSources:\n${formatSources(context)}`
    }],
    tools: [{ name: 'submit_answer', input_schema: ANSWER_SCHEMA }],
    tool_choice: { type: 'tool', name: 'submit_answer' }
  });
  const answer = parseToolUse(response);
  if (!answer.citedSourceIds?.length) {
    return { type: 'escalate', reason: 'no_grounding' };
  }
  await logInteraction({ customerId, question, answer, context });
  return { type: 'answer', ...answer };
}

Citation-required answer pattern — model output is rejected without a grounding source.

[003 / 005] Common Questions

Field FAQ.

How is this different from buying an off-the-shelf AI support bot?

Off-the-shelf bots optimize for time-to-demo, not time-to-trust. We integrate the model into the system you already operate — your CRM, your auth, your audit pipeline — and we make every answer traceable to a source document. The result is a deployment your compliance team will sign off on, not a demo that gets quietly retired after 60 days.

Which language models do you work with?

We default to Claude (Anthropic) for support workloads because of its longer context windows for ticket history and stronger refusal behavior on out-of-policy requests. We also build with OpenAI models when there is a procurement reason to. Our integrations are model-agnostic by design — you can swap providers without rewriting your application logic.

How do you handle PII and sensitive customer data?

PII is detected and redacted before any prompt reaches the model. We use field-level redaction tied to your data classification policy, not a generic regex pass. For federal and SDVOSB engagements we also support fully on-premise inference using open-weight models when data residency rules require it.

What does the integration timeline look like for a typical engagement?

A pilot in agent-assist mode (model drafts, human approves) typically reaches production in three to four weeks. Autonomous tier-1 deflection on the highest-confidence intents follows after two to four weeks of approval-rate data. Full rollout across intents is a quarter of work, not a month.

How do you prevent the model from hallucinating policies that do not exist?

Two mechanisms. First, retrieval-required answering — the model is forbidden from responding without a grounding source from your corpus, enforced at the application layer, not the prompt layer. Second, policy-class questions (refunds, eligibility, SLA) route to deterministic rules rather than the model. The LLM handles natural language; your business logic remains in code.

Will this work with our existing helpdesk like Zendesk or Salesforce Service Cloud?

Yes. We have shipped integrations with Zendesk, Salesforce Service Cloud, Freshdesk, and several custom-built ticketing systems. The integration sits as a service alongside your helpdesk, consuming events via webhooks and writing back drafted replies through the existing API surface — no migration required.

How do you measure success — and what is a realistic deflection rate?

We measure deflection and CSAT jointly. A 60% deflection rate paired with falling CSAT is a failure, not a win. Realistic ranges are 25 to 40 percent tier-1 deflection within the first 90 days for B2C workloads, lower for B2B because tickets are more complex and more variable. We instrument both metrics from day one and tune the autonomy threshold against the joint signal.

Do you support government and SDVOSB-eligible engagements?

Yes. VooStack is SDVOSB-certified and veteran-owned, with experience in compliance-sensitive deployments. We can deliver under federal procurement vehicles and adapt the architecture to FedRAMP, FISMA, or agency-specific data handling requirements — including fully on-premise inference where the engagement requires it.
